M848ALU with Sempron CPU

When I first installed my M848 mobo with Sempron 2800 the bios displayed it as an Athlon. So I flashed the BIOS with the latest on the US PCChips website and all was well.

Until a couple of days ago when the display reverted to Athlon ... :?

Anyone have any ideas why the bios would lose the CPU type??? :?:

It can sometimes do that when the FSB setting gets messed up.

Front Side Bus.
Enter the BIOS, Advanced Chipset Setup and check CPU Frequency.
More than 100,000 BIOS strings in my database just now!

OK sorted.

Checked BIOS/CMOS settings and saved WITHOUT making any changes. ( I was writing them down incase I had to reflash).

Bingo! Sempron identified again ... simple in the end ...
