I have an ECS P6BX-A+ (Rev1.1a) m/board. I'm trying to get it to run a Western Didital 80gb HDD with 8meg of buffer, but unfortunately I'm not suceeding - BIOS update required.

I have searched for an update, and thought I had found what I wanted on ECS's US site. I downloaded version 5.6 and flashed with Awd66. Basically it won't flash, I get an error:

Quote:
Program file part number does not match with your system

The Full BIOS string reads:

05/07/1998-i440BX-W83977-P6BX-A+

Not sure whether it helps, but directly under the Award logo the screen reads:

P6BX-A+ Ver2.4 05/07/1998

i would really appreciate if someone would be able to help
me on this.

thanks for your time.

Try using the /py switch when flashing. That BIOS is the right version.

Hey ajzchips,

I have the same issue/problem.
I tried the /py switch, as you suggested, but it didn't help.

The only additional information I can provide is:
"Flash Type - WINBOND 29EE011 /5V"

Checksum on the BIOS file bxap56.bin is 4CCCH

Have also tried the awd822a version of the flash utility

Both return with the error:
"The file size does not match!"

Suggestions?

Thanks.
