hello all
I had recently (last week) buy 160 Giga (WD1600) hard disk to my pc with acorp Model 6VIA85P(09/01/2000-693-596-SMC-2A6LGX3KC-00)

I partion it to approx 10 ,10 ,60, 60, 12 Giga
then after one day the last partion(11) become free space (automaticly deleted)
i deleted the last 2 partions and and make teh 2 partions again
as 70 and 2 , later the partion 2 giga become free space
last i merge them into one partion 72 giga and there is nothing happened
when i see my IDE detection i noticed that the bios read the hard disk as
128(Large)/137(LBA)GB HDD
and i didn't know now where the problem source
is the problem from HD or Bios??
what is the advice??
update Bios , return the HD and get new 160 HD or return the HD and get HD 120Giga

Get a 120GB HDD instead, or an add-on IDE controller card (modern, with its own BIOS).
