I have a problem with my MOBO not detecting my new Western Digital 80GB HDD. My MoBo specs are as follows:

ID String: i440bx-NS351-UA69KS00C-00
Date: 06/09/99
Award Plug & Play Extension V.1.0
4.51PG

I tried a couple different options, but nothing seems to work... anyone have a solution or an update that works??? I know that there was a post recently that worked... so hoping I can get the same update. (ajzchips)

Thanks.

I tried this update already, and was unfotunately no good. I used this, and booted the system with the HDD in, and it will not boot, if I take the HDD out it appears to be trying to boot, so when the 80GB WD HDD is connected, it fails.

It does detect the harddrive now, as well as both CD-Roms still, but it gives an error "PS/2 Mouse error or no PS/2 mouse present". I had a USB one on before, and changed it to a PS/2, and it didnt give me this before I did the update. So if I press F1 to continue, it gets to the next screen with the basic info on the system:

CPU Type: Pentium III
Co_Processor: Installed
CPU Clock: 450 MHz

Diskette Drive A: 1.44M, 3.5 in.
Diskette Drive B: None
Pri. Master Disk: LBA,Mode 4,_ <---- bliking cursor

And it will not load any further than this, so it is locking up on the HDD.

That was the previous post where a file had to be changed on the update, and corrected the issue.

If you need anything else, please feel free to PM me. Thanks again for the help :)
