I recently flashed my bios on my TYAN Trinity i845 (S2090) and rebooted my system to discover i had flashed it with the bios for Trinity i845E (yes fool i know). Now i can't boot up the system apart from the bios info at the top of the screen.

I know about the boot block protection jumper but when i try this method it does not seem to do anything. I have also heard the removing all pci and agp stuff from the board and using an old pci graphics card might help. If i can get the floppy to boot i have the right bios file etc.

Can anyone tell me the definite way to fix this? Or am i without any hope?

Can anyone help a total muppet?

Is the BIOS chip soldered? You could try hotswapping or getting it reprogrammed for you at an electronics shop.
