Did I just create a boat anchor?

I updated my bios this morning, and, believe it or not..........had a power outage! Now, when I try to boot, it stops at the bios information string and says Checking NVRAM. Is there anything I can do to recover? Or, did I just create a boat anchor......HELP!!

Try clearing CMOS or adding/removing a memory or PCI card. It should force NVRAM update which might bring it back to life.
