Will updating Bios kill MB?

I have a motherboard from a Compaq Presario which is an Asus K8N8X-LA
mATX MB.
Would updating the Bios from Asus ruin the Bios? Rather than using the one from Compag?
Specifically using the K8N full size ATX, could not find same board on Asus web site.

I wouldn't even think of trying it. Those OEM boards are very customized.

I have a backup for k8n8x-LA (DOM) with nforce250 !!! :D

Into Hp site this bios there isn't...

Whit this bios I have repaired my Mainboard for Compaq SR1259IT
