Info about my bios:
BIOS Manufacturer : Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID : 07/03/1998-ITE8671-2A69JV3FC-00
BIOS Date : 07/03/98
BIOS OEM Signon : BIOS-I (80703)
BIOS ROM Size : 128K
Chipset : Intel 440EX/LX rev 3
Super I/O Chip : ITE 8671 found at port 279h

I need to upgrade my old bios and in the manufacturer's site i downloaded the updating file (ex1223ig.bin) with the awardflash v6.22.
But when i start flashing i get the message "Fail-Due to EMM386 or QEMM".
Same thing with other versions of flasher, except the latest one v8.15B, which doesnt give me this message, but indicates Flash type=unknown flash, and after i enter the name of the new file, it tells me "the program file's part number does not match with your system".
What should i do :?:
And how can i know the date and version of the update file i downloaded, in order to be sure it's the most recent one :?:

Thanks for your advice :!:

You need to boot to a clean DOS disk...see the FAQ.

What do you mean by CLEAN dos disk?
I used my normal boot disk to enter the dos mode, was i wrong?

And do you have any answer to my second question, how to know date and version of new bios ?
Do you think that the update i downloaded for my bios is the right one?

Thx

Find the MODBIN utility (which runs in a DOS box) somewhere on the web (Amptron website perhaps?), download it and run it in the directory where you have your upgrade file. Select and load the upgrade file and it will show you the BIOS string and the OEM string.

Create a bootable diskette, not DOS mode from hard disk. It should have only the files you need, no extra drivers.
Tested patched BIOSes. Untested patched BIOSes.
