bios locks when auto-detecting, post freezes

here's my problem...
when i set the bios to auto detect hdd, it notices my 160 gig, but on the second list screen, it freezes...and when i auto detect the hdd in the bios, it freezes.
this is what i have...

and this is what i want to install as a second hard drive, or slave rather
(i have a 40 gig as the master drive)...

Shuttle/Spacewalker HOT-661 Rev 3.x, patched Bios here:

Note: Patched Bios supports HDD up to 128GB and resolves many hanging during detection problems. If thsi patched Bios does not help then limit your 160GB drive per Jumper, any newer OS should be able to fully adress the space above the limitation.

ok, thanks for the quick responce...but what do i do with the .bin file? when i double-click it, windows doesn't know what to open it with it. isn't .bin a mac extention?
