Hello,
I have a MSI MS6529 which is also called a 845 Pro. The BIOS is by AMI and is version 1 for this motherboard. MSI says this is an ATA/100 IDE motherboard. Intel says it is capible of 48 Bit LBA...
When I install a 300GB hard drive the BIOS detects a 137GB.
Help?
MS6529 845 Pro motherboard and 300GB hard drive
If the board version is 845 Pro (MS-6529 Version 1.0), I found an AMI BIOS update at this page:
http://www.msi-technology.de/produkte/m ... Seite=BIOS
Pay attention if it's the right board because with the code 845 Pro there are many versions.
For this board you can download also LiveUpdate3 from this page:
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/ ... update.php
that monitor your board and download automatically the right updates, but I don't try this program since today.

IF you have W2K/XP with latest patches or a recent Linux distributuion then these OS are capable of fully adressing your HDD regardless of the Bios 128GB limitation. You just need to have the boot partition within the Bios limits.
