120GB (or better if possible?) ECS P6BXT-A+ Rev 1.2C

I pulled this board out a while ago but am now looking into building a small home server using it. This means I cant use BiosAgent at the moment.

As its for a home server the present HD limit of 32GB is too small, thats why I'm hoping for an increase to 128GB or more if possible.

I'm pretty sure I was using the Bios listed on the ECS site when I was last using the board (Version 2.1, Release Date 2003/03/28 ).

Edit - Startupscreen:
Award Modular Bios v4.51PG
P6BXT-A+ Ver 2.1 03/24/1999
03/24/1999-i440BX-W977EF-P6BXT-APC-00
(sorry no Eval - there are no disks attached at the moment)

Just to complicate things, ECS have an update listed with the same release date, no version number, different size, that says "Update Description 1. For big HDD, Special Note: Service ROM". It also uses a different Award flash utility. I have no idea what they mean as ECS still states that the max HDD for this MB is 40MB.

Hope you guys can help

PS. I'm using a modified Bios from Rainbow with a Soyo SY-7SBB - works great, thanks!

That service ROM is:

06/23/2000-i440BX-W977TF-P6BXT-APC-00
P6BXT-A+ 6/23/2000

Our utility states:
"BIOS already supports HDDs over 32GB & 64GB"

Thanks for the answer ajzchips,

should I first flash from my Ver 2.1 03/24/1999 to the Version 2.1, Release Date 2003/03/28 posted by ECS
and then use the service ROM ?

Edit: cancel that question - I extracted the current ECS "bin" file and surprise, surprise the file mod date is 03/24/1999

I'll try and flash with the service Bios and let you know how it went in the next few days.

Well it took more than a few days, but I flashed OK and just tested with a 120GB drive - recognized without problem :D

So thanks for the help.

P.S. ECS still states on all websites that this board will only take up to 32GB drives, even though it offers a bios that allows bigger ones!
