New HDD is @home :D
I wanted WD800BB but it was not available so I got Seagate Barracuda ATA IV 80GB. Right now it runs with my MSI MS-5120 (i430FX) Pentium board.

apoorva,

I have been looking into this and this BIOS is indeed limited to 32GB.
To be able to use the 80GB drive, both the 32GB and the 64GB bug have to be fixed. The 32GB bug is easy, but the 64GB bug requires more work.
I will continue on this BIOS after the weekend and report back if I have a solution.

I've patched my BIOS so this 7 year old board will work with HDDs upto 128GB. I use modified BIOS from DTK PAM0054I E1 board on my MSI.

BiosMan: I "developed" a total fix for the 64GB bug - includes your patch and also the setup code is changed (according to Award's new code) - so it will not hang anymore on Auto Detect in SETUP. The only "cosmetic" problem is that it shows e.g. 80 in SETUP and you don't know if it's 80MB or 80GB :) But it works well.

AWD64GB is on the way... It will patch the 32GB bug and also the 64GB bug using this "total fix".

apoorva,

I've just finished patching this HOT-661 V1.1/V2.0 BIOS (6610S074) from 05/31/1999.
Apart from fixing the 32GB bug, I was able to remove 64GB limit bug as well, so the IDE drive support stretches now upto 128GB! :)
I send the BIOS to your Yahoo address.
Please let us know how it works with the 80GB drive now.

Rainbow,
Thanks for your "total" 32GB+64GB fix! This is great! :D
I will check it out.
Note that the "nice" 64GB fix I did on the 6610S074 BIOS has to be done in the "awardext.rom" module, just as on the M577 BIOS.
I will come back on this in more detail later on.

AWD64GB searches for the code in both the main block and awardext.rom. Some BIOSes (Asus) have all code in main block and have no awardext.rom. Some other BIOSes have some code in main block and some other code in awardext.rom. And finally, some have everything in awardext.rom.
