I used to use the boot up screen to troubleshoot and repair my computer. But the new motherboard I have boots up so quick, I don't have time to read the boot up screen. Can I make this first screen stay around for a few seconds longer? Or is this just the way all motherboards are now? I'm using a Phoenix Award 6 Bios with an KTVA7 AMD motherboard.
Hit the Pause/Break key on your keyboard, booting should stop.
Inside Bios set Fast or Quick boot to disabled, may also be called Fast/short power on self test
Thank you, the pause button stopped the boot so I could read the hard drive connections; this is what I wanted to see. Disabling the fast boot didn't do much, it just made the memory test keep repeating until I hit the escape button. Thanks, again.
