Hello, let me start off by saying that I don't exactly have a clue on what silly things I've done, I appear to have accidentally downloaded an incompatible ACPI BIOS version, or something to that effect, now my laptop isn't working anymore, I'm using windows 2000, if that's of any help.

I keep getting this message now upon startup:
Memory write/read failure at 0FFE0004, read 11FC11FE expecting 11FE11FE
Memory address line failure at 0FFE0000, read 11FE11FE expecting 01010101
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility

And after hitting F1:
STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x00000011, 0x00000007, 0xED460000, 0x0100000E)
The ACPI BIOS is not fully compliant with the ACPI specifications. Read the README.TXT for possible workarounds. etc etc

I imagine I should hit F2 and then proceed to mess around with the ACPI BIOS settings...(?) But, hence me asking this here, I have no idea how to go about doing so. There's where you guys hopefully come in.

If I've posted this message in the wrong section (I wasn't exactly sure of where to put this), please move it to the right one, but please don't close this, as I'm really desperate to get an answer.

Thanks in advance.

edit: I read something about bleeps on here, so if it might be of any help, I hear two bleeps after starting up.

Well, I went ahead and messed with the settings a little bit anyways. I changed the BIOS to thorough, shut down, then changed back to minimal again and to my surprise everything is back up and running, yay!
