How-to identify your motherboard ?

Hi All

The bios id i have for the motherboard is 02/11/99-VT82C580VP-2A5LA008C-00 . I believe it is a Bull computer. The reason i need help is i cant get a usb card working. So i thought updating my bios mught help.

I've seen this ID on a FIC PA-2005 Mainboard - have a look onto your Board for a model number like that .
Do you have a PCI USB card or do you try to use the nonworking OnBoard USB ?
If PCI card tried to install it to a different PCI-slot ?

Thanks Master Flasher ... i will check out the board for that identification ... i only had the choice of one slot ... it only has 4 slots. Maybe i will swap the usb and modem cards around .... see if that works

Just checked a manual for the fic pa2005 and its not my board .... my board has a central riser with 2 pci and 2 isa slots.

Instead of 2A5LA00 (double zero) could it be "O0" (letter O and zero)?
If that were the case, it could be an Octek board.

Please have a look onto your mainboard for any marking that may belong to a model number !
