I currently have a Dell SX270 ultra tiny computer which takes a 2.5" IDE Hard Drive. It seems that Dell locked out any drive but only a handful of model numbers in the BIOS. The BIOS only shows "Unknown Device" for the drives.

I know the drive works because It is brand new (80GB) Also, it seems all applications after post can see the drive fine (i booted a linux boot floppy and it could see and manage the drive) I also booted the dell diagnostics CD and it saw the drive and tested it successfully.

The big problem is the computer will not boot the device because the bios does not see it.

I have the bios.hdr file as well as the bios.rom file for my current bios on this system (phoenix). What format is the .hdr file? I have tried opening the .rom in the Phoenix Bios editor (v2.1) but all i get is "No BCPs found!"

Thanks!
