Hi everyone!
I have an Intel Celeron 433MHz computer, 1998's edition. In it there is a motherboard with a label on it, which says:
AWARD PCI/PNP 1998 188491823 PGBAT-A+ 611
I really need to know which devices it is compatible with.
Firstly I need to upgrade the RAM [probably an SDRAM, right?] and I need to put a network card on it, but I don't know wich model to look for.
I already have 32Mb RAM, but it is not enough to install WinXP on it. [They need at least 64].
Any information around the subject would be appreciated!I can't completely understand what is this old PC exactly is, and I am trying to upgrade it in order to use it somehow...
THANKS!!!
Motherboard Specifications needed please!
Hi there, Can I suggest that you visit Majorgeeks.com and look for a piece of software called Everest or Everest at home. This ( usually ) gives you a complete breakdown of everything that is inside your machine.
Hope that helps a little.

P6BAT-A+ would be a mainboard from ECS - www.ecs.com.tw
AFAIR equipped with Intel i440BX chipset so you need memory modules compatible to this chipset - maximum is 256MB per Slot but only special modules will go (16 memory chips (8 per side) and 8x16 internal organisation).
Every standard PCI network card should work.

P6BAT-A+ support site:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downlo ... 82&LanID=0
the P6BAT-A+ uses a VIA Apollo Pro+ Chipset (not an Intel 440BX) and is capable of driving 768MB RAM with the 3 DIMM slots (6 banks) it has. You can put in 256MB modules with 16MxN organisation.

that via chipset has the same requirements for memory as the 440bx, it was designed to be pin-compatible if my memory serves me right...
