Hello!

Is there any tools to "grab" (save) the current firmware from an CD-ROM into a file ? I am trying to update a CD-ROM with a newer firmware but I can't find any on the net but I have another CD-ROM with newer firmware that I would like to "copy".

Sincerly,

Try http://www.firmware.fr.st

If you don't find the firmware there, try to find a flash update for another CDROM by the same manufacturer, with the sole scope of using the "save" function of the flash utility.

I've looked at the "firmware page" before but the link is broken for the firmware that I nedd. It's for the Teac CD-224E. I'll try another Teac firmware and see if there is an "save" option in the flasher.

It is possible to back up your firmware on most of drives, but you must write your own program to do it. Most of flashers verify if firmware was flashed successfully after flashing, so they read the firmware and compare it. But there are some drives that don't allow you to read their firmware and do everything inside of the drive...
