Okay, my problem is that My BIOS won't update.

HP have provided us with a winflash utility.

Located on HP's website.

(cannot post the URL because the forum wouldn't allow me to post it)

I used that utility and now the BIOS is stuck on a particular version -but- is also corrupt. Now my BIOS will not update for love nor money.

I wanted to update via a bootable disc so I extracted the winflash utility and found that the file needed is just "30CCF59.WPH" and that is the actual new BIOS right there.

I cannot get this to boot or update or anything... please someone tell me where I am going wrong.

So an overview;

Updated via official HP way
HP way sucked and killed my BIOS
Tried to update via CD (no floppy)
used nero
burned with the settings:
Data Mode:1
ISO 9660 only
8.3 filename length
ISO 9660 charset

burned at 1x to ensure integrety

NOTHING... all dead.

If it now is not updating anywhere I would contact HP for a solution, be it they send you a fix or have the laptop repaired.
