Hello....

I will be adding 60 Gb hard drive to a PC in very short order (I hope.)
I am curious to know if I will be able to run it with the set up I currently have..Bios, chipset, etc. If not, what will I need to get and how would I go about getting it?

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

First enquiry suggests FIC VA503+ mobo.
Check http://www.fica.com/site/html/services/BIOS.asp
Latest BIOS appears to be JE439_VA-503+_pcb12a.zip dated 23rd May 2000 which looks like everything is fixed including UDMA33/66 problem.

For the V503+ board, the latest beta BIOS (4333) can be obtained from ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/bios/motherboards/socket7/va-503+/

The bin file is dated Jan 11 2001.

This supports HD's up to 40 GB according to the FAQ. However, more than likely it supports HD's up to 64 GB.

No. I'm wrong. Your BIOS string indicates a Rev 1.1 PCB and the file listed above is for a rev 1.2 PCB.

GeorgeP's link lists a number of BIOSes; the one he suggests must be je433.zip which does have support for discs to 128Gb, according to Rainbow's utility.

1.15JE indicates PCB 1.2A - PCB 1.1 would be 1.15JK
So no error in your previous post in this case.
