within this foruml I'd like to request if you could help me in the identification of a motherboard manufacturer.
I tried the amibid tool. But this did not deliver any info.

On the surface of the chip the following code is visible:
AMIBIOS
American Megatrends
486DX ISA Bios (c) 1992
AA 0916676

during the boot sequence on the screen appears:

American Megatrends Inc.
40-0400-428036-00101111-121291-UNICHIP-F

Kindly let me know, if you can help with any further information.

These people might help you:

They seem to be the manufacturers of your chipset.

Hi Edwin,

sorry that I'm answering late. I must apologize for that...
Unfortunately the figure of the motherboard you posted is not the right one. :( :( :(

Enclosed please find a sketch of the motherboard

regards Mick

edit by edwin: the image in ASCII has been removed. I got it by email, I'll try and put it online somewhere.

I think I have got a match with the same chip and largely the same layout.

Hi Edwin,

this 486 WB-U1 board fits better, but I think it is not the right one, because on my first sketch there are two electronic components that I didn' t find on your figure 30989-1.png. :( :?

I didn't pay attention to the position of the jumpers. But I found a stamping on the back side:

YANG AN YA-1
94 V-0 E 114 139
9237

handwritten (white paint) turned upside down to the stamping

143012

Enclose please find an update to my first sketch related to the 2 electronic parts I did not find on your figure.

Best regards,

Mick

You will have to put that picture somewhere on the internet if you want the rest of the world to see it. We cannot access your harddisk...

Hi Edwin,

I sent this via e-mail to you ...

Regards

Mick

edit by edwin: putting online means upload the picture to a webpage somewhere and put a link to it. Pasting it here will not work. Note: I just saw my reply-to address is wrong, that should be edwin@wimsbios.net NOT elhvb@wimsbios.net

The Samsung 83C206 is a multi I/O chip, they are often left out of the sketches. If it had been there in the 486 WB-U1 sketch would your board fit? Is that rectangular shape in the sketch in the right place if I tell you it's a metal thingy (crystal oscillator)?
