11/06/1998-i440BX-W977-2A69KM4EC-00.

Please help me if anyone have the BIOS updated. I really need it. Thank you.

Microstar, MS6151/MS6147/MS6156 or similar.
Is there a message just below the Award logo, top left of the memory count screen ? Something like "W6147MS V1.1 061198"
Can you check the board to find a number like "MS6151" somewhere in big letters ?

The only other thing that could be useful is :
For Intel(R) Coppermine(R) CPU support, please check first if your mainboard have a blue sticker with the letter "C" located in the I/O chip, if yes, that means your system could support Intel(R) Coppermine(R) CPU. (The Winbond I/O chip is located beside the BIOS chip)
I would be happier to patch the V1.7 BIOS rather than the V1.8 if you do not have Coppermine support on the motherboard.

Microstar sold a lot of boards to system builders (such as Fujitsu). As your message says "W6147P4" instead of "W6147MS" it seems likely that yours was one of these, but I don't know which system builder "P4" is. You should be able to download an unpatched version of a later BIOS from here but I will email a patched version of the 1.7 BIOS if you would like to test it.

I found that there are no blue sticker with the letter "C" on the main board I/O chip. anyway, i would like to try the V1.7 patched file, would you mind to send to me please? Thank you very much! :P

P.S. the system builder should be "P2" not "P4"

Hi Nicks,

I have downloaded the unpatched version of BIOS form the site you mentioned above. But the result is that i tried three versions 1.8, 1.7 and ZX1.2, no one can work after i updated the BIOS by using them. The harddisk can't be detected as before.

Between, after updating the BIOS, it shows "F1 to reset" and "F10 to exit" rather than "update successful" . Is that the updated successful of failed?

The unpatched version won't allow you to see your HDD, but the BIOS message when you reboot should have changed to "W6147MS V1.7 050799". Did that happen?

F1 should reboot, F10 exit to DOS. Use F1. Don't use the ZX BIOS if you have a BX board!

Yeah!
The patched version you sent to me was worked. The harddisk can be detected and used now. Thank you very much, Nicks!

Denniss means, is your computer branded (Dell/Time/Tiny/Packard Bell/whatever) and if so what brand ? It would be nice to know what P2 stands for, if we can find out. Or did you assemble it yourself ?

When the computer started, it shows Packard Bell on the screen. Therefore, i think it is Packard Bell.

@Denniss: I did not really plan to, but someone should. Do you ? It might be good to put it on the main site notes for MicroStar as well (wim/soupy)
