FIC PA-2005 memory upgrade
I've just upgrade my old FIC PA-2005 Pentium 200 motherboard from 64MB to 128MB and the Award bios only recognizes the orginal 64MB. I've installed four matched 32MB EDO SIMMS in banks 0 through 3. However, if I inquire the status through memory diagnostic software (or such) it falsely reflects a total of 256MB of installed RAM. Anyone have any suggestions?
Make sure that the modules are properly seated. Do you have the latest BIOS?

I noticed something similar adding 2 new 64mb to my old 2 32mb SIMM's.
When I put the new 64's into slots 3&4 the bios would incorrectly report 327 (double the new RAM) and I get page fault errors. I flashed to both 619j900 and 6201j900 bios but still got same results or when just 64's installed in Bank 0 it only reports 64mb (instead of 128).
The only way I could get any good out of my new RAM is to put one of the old 32mb chips in both slots 1 & 3. I put my new 64's in slots 2 & 4. Apparently slot1 tells bios to treat slot2 the same and slot3 tells bios to treat slot4 the same. Using this I get 128MB RAM but not the 196MB that I should have.
