Possible to disable memory checking at boot-time?

Is your memory not fully recognized? (Intel VX chipset Memory recognition)

Hi,
as you'll know, some motherboards are dog slow at doing the ram checking at bootup time. Is it possible to hack the bios to prevent this from being performed? Waiting 2 minutes while it trawls like a turtle through hundreds of megabytes puts a huge dampener on a system's usefulness.

Thanks for sufferring my naivity :)

Thanks, but those options didn't work (as mentioned in the Bios notes), but the latest Bios fixes the problem so no worries.

Is it possible to hack the Bios to add support for larger ram modules, or will nothing make a 440LX chipset handle modules larger than 128mb? :)

You can use 256MB modules - but they must be double-sided with 16 chips.
