Bios rom on offer...
I had a need for an old system today, for an old OS that required a 486 system at the latest.. I dug out a fairly newish looking board that the battery hadn't leaked onto & killed, then fired it up, did a quick search for an updated bios but found nothing related to this board other than 2 links with...

That exe file you refer to (7buj23us.exe) has the bios update within it in segments that look as though it's meant to be flashed within windows using the winphlash utility in the (7buj23us.exe) package... The only way I got around this problem once on an HP bios, which was an AMI bios in many segmen...

i hope you didn't get me wrong: i never wanted to say that those boards are crap (i have plenty sold S7 boards and they still rock as fileservers or standalone players or...) but i wanted to remind you that these boards have limits you'd better know before damaging cpu, board or both.. No I figured...

go figure for yourself. I never really believed they would run it in the 1st place as it is... When I'd originally posted here in july last year, I had what looked like the latest revision of this board, that had jumper settings that I really thought wasn't possible, so for the sake of trying I did...

if you'd supply the markings on the regulator it would be easy to help with the cpu selection. On the revision 1a board with a heatsink under it - it's LT1585 CT 9531 On the rev 2a board with a heatsink under it - it's EZ1084CT 9549 15632 There's another next to each of them that reads. Rev 1a EZ10...

ahmm..just for your information: all K6 after the K6 233 (e.g. all K6 faster than 233MHz and all K6-2) need a core voltage of 2.2V Yes I know this, & was amazed to see that both revisions 1a & 2a of the boards had a voltage setting via jumpers that drops to 2.5v, yet iv'e seen K6/2 cpu's run OK on ...

Well, I have 2 revisions of this board, 1A & 2A. 1A has the cache tag ram ( I think it's called ) showing up as 256kb of asynchronous. 2A has the sram showing as 256kb of pipelined burst. Tried this bios on both & only managed to run any K6-2 cpu at 233mhz. I tried a 300afr-66, 333afr-66, 366afr-66,...

It took me a bit longer than expected but the GA-586AT S Ver.1.32 BIOS is also patched now. I found about the same things to fix as in the 586ATV BIOS: K6-2CXT, K6-III, K6-2+, K6-III+, and Cyrix MII 4.0x multiplier support. I also fixed the 32GB and 64GB bugs for 128GB HDD support. KenOath, I send ...

Before I bought myself a programmer some time ago, I always found that any Intel 28F010 dip type chip I'd saved from boards I'd trashed, worked well in any socket 3 system that already had a 32pin windowed eprom chip in it. And the awdflash utilities used to flash the boards usually always detected ...

there's no 384kb flash size. I was thinking he might mean like how some of the OEM bios's come in a multiple of 32 & 64kb files that usually add up to 384kb, usually for the 512kb chip.. I've not attempted to bother trying to hotflash such instances, only if the rom/bin I was attemting to hotflash ...

Re: Pls help
Is there any changes in bios hotflashing method when it deals with 384kb or 512kb? Im having difficulty hot flashing those bios at 384/512kb range. Any inputs will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. I've not ever hot flashed a 384kb file, but I have done a 512kb one on a board with intel ...

KenOath, Let me know if this is the BIOS you need, or if you need a patched GA-586AT S BIOS. Jan. It was the GA586AT S I was originally after, Googles search led me here, only to find that there was a typo in one of the posts... However I do have an atv board so thanks for that patch above... But y...
