I' m trying to install the IBM 80GB Hard drive, but it hangs wile trying to detect is as the primary master.

which os are you using? if it's windows xp (sp1 + regpatch or sp2), windows 2k (sp4 and above) or any recent linux you can jumper the drive to be limited to 32GB. check the hdd's label or manual for further information. this only applys to the detection in the bios, of course! once you loaded the os the full capacity will become available.
