Could someone please explain what the Graphics Aperature Size setting does, which is found in many BIOSs. I see this setting a lot but am unsure as to it's function - therefore since the setting is usually greater than the video memory I leave it alone.

I suspect it has something to do with the maximum video memory the BIOS will work with and that it has to be of equal or greater value than the video memory on the graphics chip or card. Is this correct?

Main memory usable as graphics memory if local graphic card memory is too small.
