Tried to hotflash with v1.1 and v1.1e bios codes downloaded from ECSUSA website. Nothing works. With a working chip the flash freezes and the old bios is still there.
Does anyone have a working bios or am I downloading it wrongly somehow? Help much appreciated

CD lights up and HDD starts but thats it. Classic BSOD.
I just wondered if there was a known bug with Uniflash and this Windbond chip or whether there was some way to overwrite the badflash and start again. I'm running out of spare bios chips

Under the bios section there is a latter upgrade dated 09/27/2k but that appears to be only support for AMD K2 500+ cpus

One question before I try this.
When do I take out the reflashed chip? I recall after the flash it says "computer will now restart" Do I let that happen or should this be stopped and the chip taken out at this point?

Nothing to id this board. Its a socket 7 with a via vt82c686a chipset. Onboard video = via pc100. sound = soundpro, 2 usb, and ps2 ports. 2 dimms only and only 1 ide. A sticker says 00D009F2B841. I really want to know what CPU to use. The manual says a socket 462 for AMD Athlon K7 with 200 mhz fsb. I have a Duron 800. Is that OK?
