Hi all,

I found, that my MB is PCChips M560. This MB has two revisions, rev 3.1 and 4.1. But the problem is that on my board is written REV 3.1A
Is it the same board as rev 3.1 or it is something else?

bye, gogo

I would assume 31.A requires 3.1 BIOS. For confirmation, read the info at the PC-Chips Lottery website http://www.stud.fernuni-hagen.de/q3998142/pcchips/ and if still not sure try the forum there - some PC-Chips experts like ajz also help out there.

The BIOS is the same for ALL the M560's.
Differences:
V4.1 vs. V3.1: the former includes 50 and 55MHz FSBs.
A vs. non-A: the former uses a replaceable Lithium CR2032 battery instead of the latter's RTC; and includes a small hardware fix for the HDD LEDs.

Wish I had seen this before looking at the picture (of a non-A version) and concluding that the m560 was real close but "not quite the one" due to "that funny chip" in the same place where a battery should be. ;)

On the bright side... it'll still be easier to change the CMOS battery. :)
