I have an Asus G2P laptop
Motherboard part # 08G27AC0021I Rev 2.1

The board is basically a revised and upgraded Asus A7C

It has the Intel PM945 chipset which allows up to 4Gb of memory.

You can put 4Gb of memory in and a Linux Kernel will see it but due to BIOS limitation in addressing only 2.4Gb is ever available.
This is a great desire in the community for an updated or modded BIOS to correct this issue but Asus will not release an update to the community.

The latest BIOS can be found: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/G2P/G2Pas204.zip

2.4Gb is just not enough memory anymore. It supports a nice set of Processors scaling up to the 2.4Ghz Dual core and with the SATA II channel and a SSD plus the 512 dedicated x1700 video card it's a nice laptop and would be viable for use for another 2 years if only it supported the 4Gb of memory the chipset should allow it to support.

Please help us. Thank you.
