programming bios with usb or cdrom

hello,

has anyone an idea if it is possible to program you're bios with a cdrom drive or an usb stick?

if you can boot from it, i don't see what would be the problam

just put the same files on it as you would on a floppy - recovering from a bad flash won't be that easy though and keeping a copy of your old bios won't work on a cd of course

if all else fails, try brute force :)
