Hi, I am new to this forum and this question may be a bit off topic.
Where is the RTC battery in a Compaq armada 110 physically located?
Once I can get the time, date etc to stick, only then will I be ready to upgrade the Bios.
Cheers, Eric
P.S This thread is now solved and closed :-)

Hi KW,
I would read the owners manual if I could.
This notebook was given to me by my son-in-law who moved from the UK to Australia, minus any manuals etc.
As it had a non-functioning HDD, DVD ROM drive and RTC Battery he was ready to chuck it in the bin.
I managed to salvage a 20gb HDD from a very old 200Mhz notebook.
Using DOS 6.2 and some experimental USB drivers I got XP loaded up from a 4gb flashdrive.
I only want it for a hack machine when my desktop is busy crunching images, therefore I do not wish to spend a lot in getting it serviceable.
Incidentally, how did you get your location, interests etc. into your profile?
I have looked all over this forum to enter mine without luck.
Seems I'm not able to find anything these days :-)
Cheers, Eric

The HP/COMPAQ Business Support Center still has the Maintenance and Service Guide available online (TPM_238850-001.pdf).
The RTC Battery instructions begin on page 96 (Section 5.15).
Thanks.

Thanks KW,
The HP/COMPAQ Business Support Center have renamed the document TPM_238850-003_rev3_us.pdf.
I have downloaded it and "Eureka" have found the offending battery, a little 3v rechargable.
Thank you for your assistance.
All I need to find now is where to put my details regarding my personal information on this BBS.
EG: Location: Kapunda, South Australia Interests/occupation: Electronics, Programming in C, VB etc......
Cheers for now, Eric

Hi KW,
This is my last effort to find where to put my profile info.
You are correct in that the link you provided took me to edit my profile.
I have been to that form maybe a dozen times but the screen view of my profile only allows me to edit my password and a few other minor items.
Maybe you have higher privileges to access more.
The Location, interests, web page and occupation fields are missing on my screen.
I have also noted that no other new user since 05 Oct 2006 has entered their location details either.
If it's not available that's ok.
Eric...
