Stupid question

I'm looking for a BIOS update, obviously, for an averatec 3200 series laptop with current BIOS string 63-2000-009999-00161111-040201-VIA_K7. I can't find one anywhere, not on Averatec's website, not on VIA's website, not on Google. I'm looking for it because many 3200 series users are able to install 1GB of memory with no problems, but they have a newer bios build than mine, mine won't recognize the 1GB module. Also some fan issues. I know it's an older laptop, but still does everything I need it to do I'd like to speed things up some since I'm using newer prog's and 512mb ain't cutting it anymore. Manufacturer code is 9999 and build tag is E12TR102. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Averatec (formerly Sotec) was bought by TG Sambo, now operating under the TriGem brand

I suggest you contact them for info and maybe an update. Be aware it's possible you bought an incompatible module, you cannot just throw any memory in your laptop...
