if its definetaly got the mmc2 cpu you can run p3 mmc2 @900+mghz with fsb mod +850 cpu, conversly 5,6,750 all ok,700+ you have to modify the cpu cooling somehow to counter xtra heat/or run the 850 at 700@1.35v
and you should be ok.

Hmm, very interesting errors. Does Windows XP boot up completely? Can you run WCPUID or some other program to report FSBand CPU speeds?

Hello
I have the same problem.
I changed Celeron 300MHz procesor with P3 450MHZ.
I ran cpu diagnostic program and here are the results:
FSB 66MHz
CPU speed 300 MHz as it was before changing
The program detects P3, also gives the speed with the one it sopose to work but it doesnt. I also changed BIOS to newest version.
What should I do next?

OK, it seems that the clock generator on motherboard is running at 66MHz although PIII wants 100MHz bus speed. Propably this could be solved by hacking the clock generator chip frequency selection inputs.

I think there was a solution developed for some early TP600E's, they did suffer from the same problem. Have to go search for the thread...

Hello Shredoc,

you gave the same link yesturday on tp 600 forum. I have read it at least three times. My questions are:
-is to find that pull down resistor and remove it enough to achieve 100mhz fsb, or I have to do that mod with 1k resistor also
-I have only 66mhz rams, will they run 100mhz or I have to replace them
- how to measure voltages with motherboard out, do I have to just plug in adapter and measure

Thanks for answering

99.99% of cases PC66 will do 100MHz fine

Eureka, it works.
Celeron 300mhz works with 447,5 mhz without problems

PIII 450mhz runs with 447,5mhz but I am expiriencing problems, sound, pcmcia, usb, floppy does not work and and TP behaves as it was running 100mhz. Is there anything to make this go away?

I am a bit afraid that Celeron would at that speed loose his soul. What do you think Sharedoc? Anyway thanks for helping me out.
