Hello

I'm trying to install a 80GB Samsung SP8004H, 7200rpm, but it doesn't work.

BIOS INFO:
BIOS ID: 2A5LED4GC
BIOS type: Award Modular BIOS v.$.51PG
BIOS signon: 04/12/2000-VP3-596B-DD-2A5LED4GC-00
Chipset: VIA82C598 rev 4

the hard drive is listed when booting, but i can't access it from windows or DOS.

I think the problem is this 32GB-thing I read about here, but I'm not sure because I'm a little confused about the jumpers :?

please help

DFI boards are well-identified. Check your motherboard for a silkscreened inscription and then look for a BIOS update here:

Newer Bios might be on the DFI Beta Site
http://sj.dfi.com.tw/support1/Beta%20Site/biosbeta.asp

Otherwise please tell us the model number and revision number/letter you found and we'll send you a patched Bios

I found the inscription. It's

K6BV3+/66 Rev:B1

On the update site, i didn't find anything newer than my BIOS and on the beta side none of the updates seemed to fit my problem

There's nothing wrong with your BIOS. It supports HDDs up to 128GB. You need to partition (FDISK) and format the new drive.

I just checked the BETA file with our utility, and it displays:

BIOS already supports HDDs over 32GB & 64GB
