I have a logitech quickcam express which my m590 will not recognise on the usb port. (atx form card).
The usb port works fine with my umax scanner and the camera works fine on another computer.
I have been told that it is a problem with the sis530 chipset.

I've done all logitech and usbman suggestions - uninstalling/reinstalling software - clearing out device manager in Safe mode..

Any suggestions short of buying usb/pci card????

Also anyone had any luck in getting responses from PCChips or SIS support??????

My system is
M590 (8mb agp version)
1209s bios
k62 400 proc.
128 mb pc 100 sdram
win 98se

Bios release is 12/09/1998 ;-)
Latest useable: 12/31/1998

As the sanner works, we can assume USB setup is ok.

Tried to connect that camera via a self powered USB hub?
Tried to connect the the camera without the scanner attached?
BTW The M590 does not use the SiS530 chipset.

you sure it's not an sis530??
Take a look at http://www.pcwave.com/support.html

If its not a 530, what is it??? _ (i can't be bothered to take the back off to have alook)

I've not tried camera with scanner uninstalled - i've only tried it with scanner unplugged.

I havn't got access to a self powered hub

Just get the sischip tool from sis and check yourself...

The M590 is SIS5591 (NB), SiS5595 (SB) and SiS6326 (AGP).
The SiS530 chip has the VGA engine built in, no extra chip.
