Even though the bios date is in 1999, it cannot recognise even 40GB HDD.
Would appreciate help to upgrade this PC so that I can use a 80GB HDD.

Just burned the flash chip. Now have to get a 120GB HDD, now which model should I get? (was thinking of an 80GB drive but since the modification is able to recognise 120GB - I might as well go for it).

Western Digital JB series or Maxtor 8MB cache series or Seagate 8MB cache series. Seagate is slower but quiet. Maxtor and WD are almost equal, get the cheapest of them two but make sure it has 8MB cache.
