Hello,
i recently spotted the AWARD 32GB bug in the above mainboard bios while trying to update my router with a 80GB IDE hdd. 32GB clipped mode works fine, 80GB hangs on detection.
get the latest bios here:
http://www.chaintech.dk/FILES/6xMB/6ATA2C04.EXE
would somebody be so kind to fix it for me?

Not recognized at all or does the Bios hang ?
If there's any kind of 32/64GB BUG inside the Bios it shouold hang at detecting .
Make sure the Master/Slave jumper is set according to the manual/printing on HDD and the cable is OK !
Maybe the HDD is DOA ?

My hdd is set as master and at the ferst ide. When the ide's are chekcked at bios setup it takes about 2 min for the bios to find nothing. So i willn't call it a hangup.
But the problem remains unsolved. Chaintech tells my this motherboard is limited untill 32 GB hdd. But i can't beleive the limitation can't be ficked. Do you?

With any of these BUGs inside the Bios it should hang at detecting the drive .
If it's a WD drive make sure it's set to Single-Master if there's no Slave behind .
Try Cable-Select/CS aswell
If possible check this drive on a second computer

I do have a WD drive and traied all the jumper settings. In the Single-Master the bios do not recognise, But in the CS and in the PM (?) the bios worked. I am a verry happy man.
Thank a lot.

Jeroen
