Manual for VTech/Pc Patner MP5-TRI

Hello everyone..

I'm going to find a manual for a mainboard, I tried to search on the web using google, but no manuals.

The mainboard is:

Manufacter: VTech/Pc Patner
Model: MP5-TRI
Chipset: Intel Triton 430 FX (Socket 7 based m/b)
Form: Baby AT
Date Code: 60313
Code printed on board: 702732E
PCB-ID: 35-8212-33

If there isn't any manual, someone could tell me if it's possible to set the TURBO jumper (if there is or not on the board) and if there is or not the TURBO LED.

I can't find directly looking to the mainboard the jumper!

there were many versions of those boards out there..this manual doesn't fit my board exactly but it's the closest match i could find.
about turbo jumpers anyways: who on earth needs a turbo jumper?

It all depends on the 35-8212-xx stamp on the board, that determines the version. Provided I have time I'll try and make a table rev <-> manual

about turbo jumpers anyways: who on earth needs a turbo jumper?

All on the earth need a turbo jumper if it can increase the speed of the system, like my older 486/DX2 that has got a button for high speed or normal speed.
Have you ever had an old system with this feature?

So, I have 35-8212-33 and cp's and Denniss's links aren't right for my board, aren't it?

Thanks edwin, this system (with this motherboard) is ok, is only very slow, so I tryed to find if there is a TURBO jumper to set for increasing speed!

my board has exactly the same numbers silkscreened on the board. the jumper you're looking for is J40. open=turbo, closed=deturbo.

i have plenty of old socket7 boards with so-called turbo jumpers. they are all set to turbo by default (no jumper installed) and in most cases they don't even work (eg. no effect on anything).

if your board is slow check the following things:

• 1) L1 cache enabled in BIOS
  2) L2 cache enabled in BIOS
  3) L2 cache reported by POST
  4) L2 cache installed?
  5) if no L2 cache reported check mainboard jumpers and adjust accordingly
  6) still too slow? cpu recognized correctly?

i have a K6 233 (proper cooling of cpu AND regulator) running in my 35-8212-33 board and it doesn't get recognized correctly.. ct's setk6 (or any linux ;)) does the trick anyway.

deturbo stay for normal speed? So if I would increase the speed I must set J40 as open?

Are you sure? Because in other and older boards, open=normal and closed=turbo.

For the cache, I'm going to see later.

sorry for the misunderstanding..the manual states the following:

J40 : Turbo Switch
Normal - open
Deturbo - closed

besides: the Asus P/I-P55TP4XE does have a turbo led but no turbo switch. i really don't see the need for a turbo switch on socket 7 boards anyways as no chipset and no cpu has any support for a function like this.
and please don't make me hacking the VTech board out of it's case and look where this wanna be turbo-switch is connected to ;)

Yaye, a Pentium 133 IS slow by today's standards. No turbo is going to help that...
