Please send the bios to me too, same issue
Hi cp,
could you send me the patched bios for ECS K7SOM+ that you have described in the thread "ECS K7SOM+ SiS 740 - 1440x900 - VBIOS Issue".
I faced the same problem with a new 19" widescreen monitor 1440x900.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Do either of you also have issues with the 1680x1050 resolution? Just wondering.
edit: I got the bios from another member of the forum. You can find it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/79552219/K7SOMP.zip
It fixed both 1440x900 and 1680x1050 for me.

Hello again,
I downloaded the K7SOMP.zip and there are two files included: aminf342.exe and K7SOMP.rom.
The first one seems to be the same as the AMI Flash Utility on the ECS Web Site. But I do not know the purpose of the latter one. I'm trying to access the description on the ECS Web Site "How to use the AMI Flash Utility" but am unable to open it (server error):
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downlo ... 82&LanID=0
Since my experience on that issue is very limited, I'm not aware of how to use both the files. Could you help again?
Regards,
macieq

Hi MonsterZero, hi cp,
Before I got the patched bios from cp I tried the link to rapidshare site recommended by MonsterZero. It seems it is the same version, since date and time of the bios file was equal.
Anyway, also the site of ECS is working in the meantime, so I was able to read the description how to flash the bios.
And it has worked, no problems. Before that I tried the bios flash utility from the ECS web site but it did not solve the problem. First the bios file dated 07/Dec/2007 has solved it. The funny thing about it is, the release date has not changed using it. It is still the release 27/11/2007 as the last one from the ECS web site for K7SOM+ V7.5C.
Many thanks to you both,
and Guten Rutsch!

well...someone uploaded the bios i patched to rapidshare. i don't know if it's a good idea, since the bios is neither official nor comes with any warranty. as far as i know there is only one patched version out there.
If you email me include [WIMSBIOS] in the subject.

make sure to get the correct bios version for your PCCHIPS (not ECS) M810D mainboard. the bios files are for both A and C versions of the mainboard.
