Does this fix really work? Because my mother had the same problem and she took her laptop to some so called expert who claimed that motherboard is broken and cant be fixed anymore. They took her laptop (for spare parts) so they wont charge anything? Otherwise they would have been charged 40€.
I want to say thanks for you because my pc Acer Aspire 5520 it was with the same problem, I took it to diferent places and all say me that the motherboard was died, but I follow the tips here I managed to resurrect it. So, I say again ...VERY VERY THANKS!!!

Hello

I have to put the motherboard in the oven, right? But for how long? 1 minute? 5 minutes?
What I have to see to know that already is OK to get her out of the oven?
Is there any kind of packaging for the oven?

tutorial videos galore on youtube these days.

between 5 and 7 minutes, take out the plastic spring from the express card and the cmos battery as well to prevent them from getting damaged. If you still don't feel confident, bring it to a technician with a reflowing station but be prepared to pay $150...

Thanks for the help....
Only one more question...
How to take off the CMOS battery? is attached to two metal portions...
The "plastic spring from the express card" is an yellow/orange plastic, right?
Hi to all!
It works! I've tried and now 100% working:)
There are two methods to solve the problem:
first
1 - Remove the computer and remove the motherboard.
2 - Remove the processor card and the NVidia side.
3 - Remove the CMOS Battery - there is a problem - this soldier with two metal parts. Solution: desolder and re-welding end.
4 - For the motherboard in the oven at 200 ° Celsius for 5-7 min. (Do not be afraid there is no problem, do not melt)
5 - Turn off the oven at the end of time, open the oven and windows and leave the kitchen for 20 to 30 minutes not to inhale toxic fumes.
6 - During this time the motherboard cool slowly.
7 - Remove the card and mother board and assemble the laptop.
8 - Connect the computer and run it.

PS: This method doesn't work for me at first (i did it three times and nothing).
NOW Plan B
Second Method (With a coin)
1 - Burning a bronze coin in the flame to change color.
2 - Quick, put the coin on the GPU and heat in two ways for 15 min:
2.1 - with a 100w lamp
2.2 - with a metal welder, by putting up on the coin to not let it cool.
( if doesn't work try more times) I've done it and it works!!
3 - During this time the motherboard cool slowly.
4 - Remove the card and mother board and assemble the laptop.
5 - Connect the computer and run it.

-(Pasta de silicona - i've not put it... it works without it)
I am not a computer technician,..... so you'll also get it;)
It seems that the defect is in 5520G . . . but we can solve i;)
Thanks to all, My laptop is working now!
Thank you!!
