Don't ask how to over-clock.

I have an ASUS P2B Rev. 1.02 mainboard that I'm trying to upgrade to a Celeron Tualatin 1.4 GHz processor. Its CPU ID is 6B4. Unfortunately the highest processor ID the last BIOS that ASUS released for the P2B (1014 beta 3) only recoginizes is 6B1 which is an older stepping of the 1.4 GHz Celeron. Does anyone know how to update a BIOS with a new cpu microcode file? I'm a bit over my head on this one and my only other choice is to buy a slower processor in hopes of the BIOS recoginizing it. Thanks.

Just for Info :
Do you have an adapter card with it's own voltage regulator ?
If not the Rev 1.02 has 1.8V as minimum VCore and this seems a little high for Tualatin

I'm using a Powerleap product (PL-iP3/T) which has it's own power regulator. It's configured to deliver 1.5 volts. I've also tried with a small boost to 1.55 volts with no improvement.

Yes, my patcher can this to do (it know about "Asus"-format for cpucode.bin). But try with last version (now - http://rom.by/Award/patcher/bp-4rc_C.rar). In the directory with patched file must be "cbrom.exe" (http://rom.by/Award/patcher/cbrom.rar), "lha.exe" (http://rom.by/Award/patcher/lha.rar) and "reall.cod" (http://rom.by/Award/patcher/real_microcodes.rar).

adding:
rom.by now not working - try k6-2.narod.ru

you will have to excuse apple_rom's use of the English language. What it means is no fix needed.
