Hi!
My CD-ROM is not working. I checked under Device Manager under Hard Disk Controllers and there was a yellow exclamation mark beside the Primary and Secondary Controllers. So I replaced a new cd-rom and found out that it is still not working. I have done everything I think is possible but none of them seemed to work.
Is there a better way to make my CD-ROM work?
Please help!
Thank you very much!

My CD-ROM does not work
Thanks a lot for all your help!
Cd-rom is still not working properly. I am able to insert a disk but the cd-rom will not read it. The problem actually shows, under the Device Manager, on the primary and secondary ultra ata controllers.

To paraphrase ajzchips:
Have you tried removing the offending entries from the Device Manager and reboot to have Windows redetect/reinstall them?

Well, I think those pretty little yellow circles with the question marks are quite cute in their own strange way.

It prompted me to remove the parent device.
If I remove the parent device and the primary and secondary controllers and I restart the computer afterwards, would Windows automatically re-install them or do I have to manually do it?
Thanks!

It should pick them up automatically.
