Re: Award 5DVX bigger HDD bios patch?
a google search on 5DVX seems to be a motherboard from Zida Technologies Inc. Intel 430VX chipset is used on there I'm afraid you're out of luck with 32Gb+ hard drives like the 40Gb HDD, NeoVampX. :( you could try finding 30Gb drives from Western Digital like models WD300EB or WD307AA on either ebay...

Re: Dell Inspiron AHCI can't detect hdd
i'm sorry to bring this old thread back from the dead but there are times that re-installing Windows may not be necessary when changing SATA modes in the bios and just requires some registry edits before changing SATA modes. Microsoft published support article 922976 on how to deal with stop error m...

Re: (Asus a7v8x-la mobo)BIOS - need orignial for Compaq S650
I have an old Compaq SR1303WM computer with the ASUS A7V8X-LA board and it's original BIOS version was v3.11. Flash updated it to v3.15 and could not reproduce the "video" problems OP was having. So the ASUS A7V8X-LA board that I have is working fine, though I replaced that faulty Bestec ATX-250-12Z...

Re: Dell 9000 435t Bricked
the Dell Asset Utility from the R109071.exe package can be used to edit or change the asset tag or service tag. But you need either a bootable floppy disk or bootable usb flash drive to run the asset tag tool because it is run in pure DOS mode.

Re: CD rom drive
more specifically, external usb based CD drives can only be connected to USB 2.0 or faster usb ports.
they won't work or work very slowly if they're connected to usb 1.1 ports.
check to make sure your mini-notebook pc uses usb 2.0 ports or higher.

Re: Dell Latitude D830 NOT upgrading BIOS
jdavis10, are you absolutely sure you are using a Dell Latitude D830 and not D820? Go to the Dell support site , click on Drivers & Downloads section, enter the Service Tag number of your Dell Latitude laptop to obtain specific BIOS downloads for your laptop. Latest Latitude D820 BIOS is version A10...
