I recently took posession of a bag of proms ranging from 27c256 through to 39sf020 in dip package, & about 20 plcc late chips... Jan already patched the Gigabyte GA-586ATS bios for AMD K6-2/3(+), Cyrix 433 and IDE upto 128GB support. Thank you again for your great work Jan! I was led here by searching for a bios for this same board, mines Rev4B, & was hoping to find a bios to run a K6 cpu as well, this board I have here has ...

Most of the motherboards I've worked on with onboard sound, the way to
disable it is usually with a jumper setting on the board itself...
You may need to tell us what board you have so we can advise on what
can be done...

Probably not the forum to post this on, but hoped that someone here may lead me in the right direction, but, I had a friend leave a 27C256 chip with me in the hope that I may be able to add some extra channels to the chip, it currently only has one, so he says, & was hoping that I may be able to wor...

I also just tried uniflash... It works with 313.bin but when I try to flash with 314.bin I get the following error: "Flash data verification error. Retry write operation?" I have 3 different 314.bin sources... They can't all be bad files, right? Is the 314.bin attributes read only.? I sometimes get...

Be interesting to hear from anyone who has good reason to think differently. 10 posts up from yours states this post below, how he claims that uniflash didn't detect the flash rom, might be what he means.. same here. Many Thanks for this piece of software:)... it really helped me out. The only prob...

Unless the multimeter had a capacitor tester on it, I really don't know how else you could, other than pulling them one by one & testing them the way I posted above, that is - to induce a small voltage into them making sure corect polarity when connecting, & checking to see if they hold the charge.....

Do any of the electrolytic capacitors look bulged on top instead of flat, even just remotely bulged.? I'd still suspect bad capacitors as CP suggested.. I've lost count on how many boards I've revived by replacing most of the capacitors on them, & I'm just a novice playing with this stuff for fun......

Yeah I didn't explain myself real well, the only one's I can source from where I am are 1500µF 25v units, which were half the physical size again, & being that these Veriton 5100 boards have seven side by side already touching each other, the larger voltage units wouldn't fit the board.. That's an i...
