Try to format the HDD on another pc, then copy the whole cd of windows on the HDD in a folder. After reconnect your HDD on your pc and start installation of windows directly from your HDD on your computer (you don't need the CD drive) I did the same thing in past: I think the problem is that windows...

If you try to start a pc with another HDD (with Windows installed from another pc) it's right that the computer doesn't start. If you replace its own HD, the computer should start: check all connections. Remember that the main HDD (with the Operating System) must be set as MASTER and the other drive...

Are you sure that you have reconnect the bus cable to the floppy drive correctly?
The red striped pin must be connect on the side of pin #1.

Also check the power supply cable and connector.

deturbo stay for normal speed? So if I would increase the speed I must set J40 as open?

Are you sure? Because in other and older boards, open=normal and closed=turbo.

For the cache, I'm going to see later.

Thanks a lot in advance

It all depends on the 35-8212-xx stamp on the board, that determines the version. Provided I have time I'll try and make a table rev <-> manual So, I have 35-8212-33 and cp's and Denniss's links aren't right for my board, aren't it? Thanks edwin, this system (with this motherboard) is ok, is only v...

cp wrote:about turbo jumpers anyways: who on earth needs a turbo jumper?
All on the earth need a turbo jumper if it can increase the speed of the system, like my older 486/DX2 that has got a button for high speed or normal speed.
Have you ever had an old system with this feature?

Thanks for the link

I had the same problem in January.

You can see my topic here:

I tried all, then I replaced the mainboard with another one: I think that my problem was a fault of the circuits on the board.

Try to clear CMOS memory by closing the specific jumper on the motherboard (with the pc power off) and then reopen the jumper.

If doesn't work may be that your bios battery is deplated.
